I'm pleased that people would be interested in knowing more about me besides my name.
Where do I begin?

Well, the reason I'm here is because I'm Kris and Jessica's mother. Due to this connection, I am considered part of this family because I am their mother. I participate in their upbringing and have joint custody with their father, Doug.
Kris lives with him now and he takes Jessica every other weekend. I get Kris on every other weekend, which means that both houses get a break from the children, thus making it easier to have more patience and understanding when they are around.

Many may find this a strange arrangement but in order to ensure the well being of the children, if more divorced parents put their children's well being first...then this would be the norm.

Carol always says that we should give divorce lessons, but I just think it's very basic. If you both love your children and Doug and I do - then why shouldn't their interests beforemost.
Divorce hurts many people but the real victims are the children and there is no need for them to be victims if a divorce is handled correctly.

Doug and I both talk regularly regarding the children and any problems they are having - whether it be emotional or physical. I advise him of any important events at school and he usually attends. This way the children feel that they have not lost a parent. It helps that I am (like Doug) working on myself at all times.

I guess when the children arrived, both of us realized that we needed to change and so we did. Although we are in the process of divorcing, there is no reason for us not to be at least friends for the benefit of the children.I suppose I could share some wisdom on growing and being emotionally healthy and what it takes, as this site will have lots of that.

Here is a picture of me. It was taken some time ago but Carol scanned the one that Jessica keeps in her room at their house of me with them, so this is all she had. It's good to know that my kids can see me or talk to me by simply calling whenever they want, even at their father's house. It's also good to know that they back up my rules at their house as well so that the kids discipline is always consistent.

My Favorite Things

Some of my favorite things are talking or meeting some of my friends for coffee. Relaxing, meditating and reading. I enjoy working on myself and my growth emotionally and mentally.

It's hard work but for those doing it - it is the greatest task anyone can do for themselves. Many people never reach a stage in their life where they decide they need to change and grow. That's too bad because the journey may be long but it's well worth it. Just ask anyone who's taken it and I'm sure they'll all tell you that they'd do it again.
So if you haven't already started to work on yourself, your growth, your spirituality and emotional well being....maybe you should start now. Why wait???
